Do you need to be a licensed therapist or something similar to be a SP?

Also, you can get your licensed education psychologist (LEP) license and have a private practice but maybe this applies to CA? Is this also needed to become an independent school psychologist?

What masters did you do ? Does it have to be school psych or can it be counseling etc

I work in education. I love it. I hate too at some points, but overall, I am proud of what I do. I will begin my masters program soring 2025, psychology.

Hi Tiffany! I started seeing your videos after watching MrsSchoolPsych’s videos and the vid you both did. Your information and here motivated me/was so helpful in my application process. I just got accepted to a school psych program (specialist program) and was wondering if it’d be possible to connect via email or IG message. I didn’t want to follow on IG without first asking! I believe you mentioned being in ESOL (English for Students who speak other Languages) and as someone who is a bilingual professional /was in ESOL herself, it’s motivating to see you in the field. I’m also a first time mom and would love to know your tips on juggling this program and a child! :)

It really hurts mentally to 'like" listen to this and "like" pay attention because " like" I hear alot of "like" words that should not be there .....and it makes those who are " like " talking sound very " like " uneducated and " like" uncomfortable with what they are talking about and " like" not so sure about what they are " like" talking about......

Around the 28-29 minute mark you mention burnout from the job, and you're getting paid, as non-autistic adults, to do it. And whom are you doing the ABA to, against their will? Kids with far less capacity to do the hours, over long periods of time, even if it were not otherwise abusive to autistics in so many ways. At the end of the day, you have the ability to go home and get away from it, and quit if you're tired. The poor kids subjected to it don't even have hoke as their safe place away from it, and their only "escape" is compliance. Meanwhile, it eats all their time they could be learning how to be a kid, a severely undervalued learning situation.

Are there ways to specialize in neuropsychology? What does that look like in the role?

One of my main concerns going into school psychology is report writing. I am not a fan of writing , but these temples ease my anxiety 😅

Do each of these positions require licensing or just masters?
